Elegant Repair
10/08/24I'm fairly sure moving the main Tinderbox file for the website off to another hard disk resulted in breaking all the export template links. Repairing that is only tedious. But considering a certain bundle of entries, reseting the export templates quickly became mind numbing.
I decided I would make an adornment with an action that would change the export template for these entries when I dragged them all to the adornment. Now that I think of it, a container might have been easier to drag to, but either would do.
It worked fine. I made the adornment, set its "OnAdd Action" to change the HTMLExportTemplate to a certain file, selected all the relevant notes, dragged them over and dragged them back. Much easier to do once than 30 plus times.
The problem I had was I couldn't copy the attribute value from Tinderbox's note info window (or anywhere else I could think of to look for the attribute value). In this case the value is a file path, very prone to careless typing errors. I had already converted one note, to make sure I was using the correct template. The plan was to just copy and paste the attribute path into the adornment, to reduce error. Instead, I copied the file path from Coda, which happened to be open, but still had to change all the slashes to colons. A bit tedious, but it beats doing the same thing 30 times in a row.
